We flu in to Darwin 1971 from Durban South Africa. My father had a two year contract with Global Marine an oil drilling company. We settled down in a nice house will rented on narrow road, and i went to Ludmilla primary school, i was 11 years old my brother Gordon went to Darwin high.
I remember everything, swimming, learning Ruby, open movie theater, and the weekly base ball games my brother use to play at that big park the name i can’t remember, the team were called the oilers.
Global Marine sponsored the team . The one year i spent in Darwin were my happiness as a teenager.
Many friends that i will probably never see again. I hope someone will remember me or at least that time.
I’m from Southern California and live here now. My names Stuart and i don’t think I’ll ever see Darwin again, it’s such a remote place. So if anyone remembers write, i will upload picture soon
Thank you for reading my small story.
