(Adelaide)
I George Mavros.
I was born in the old Darwin Hospital and we lived in Parap Camp in a Sydney Williams hut.
The hut was manufactured from iron rsj and corrugated iron, basic A frame construction.
No glass on the windows just corrugated iron, the window was a pushed out design.
No aircon then, just a ceiling fan.
Powdered milk, salty plums, mangos still remind me of Darwin.
In our street lived the Angeles family, the Kalmer family and the Christodulo's who owned the corner shop.
Does any one remember the Fontin family who lived on Bagot Road opposite the airport?
Had many a good time there visiting.
I also remember the Groves family who lived off Totem Road.
Lost contact with Malcolm Groves.
Left Darwin when I contacted Polio and our family moved to Adelaide.
